The Barbra Streisand rose produces large, fully double, high-centered blooms in luminous shades of lavender, with deeper coloring along the edges of its petals. Its dramatic beauty is matched by an intense citrus fragrance, making it as memorable in scent as it is in appearance.

Created by American rose breeder Tom Carruth, the rose was named for legendary singer, actress, and filmmaker Barbra Streisand. A passionate rose gardener, Streisand personally tested several unnamed varieties over multiple growing seasons before choosing this one to bear her name.

Barbra Streisand is celebrated for her extraordinary voice and her acclaimed work in music, theater, and films such as A Star Is Born, Yentl, and Funny Girl, which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress for 1968. Known for her artistry and exacting standards, she took an unusually active role in selecting her namesake rose. She later featured its blooms on the cover of her album Timeless, displayed them at her concerts, and planted more than 100 bushes at her home—making the Barbra Streisand rose a fitting expression of her passion, individuality, and enduring artistry.
